Privacy and Your Data
The calculators on this site run in your browser, and the numbers you type into them are never sent to a server.
Your calculator inputs stay in your browser
Everything you type into a calculator on this site, including lot size, price and margin figures, is processed in your browser and never sent to our server. We do not store those numbers, log them, or pass them to a broker. Closing the page clears them.
This matters for a trading reader because position sizes and account figures are personal. Running the arithmetic locally means you can test a 0.10-lot gold scenario at a reference price of about 4275.0 without that scenario leaving your device.
Traffic counts and local storage
We keep only aggregate traffic counts, such as how many visits a page received, and we do not build reader profiles from them. We do not ask for your name, your account details or your broker login, and there is no newsletter capture on these pages.
Local storage in your browser holds your own preferences, such as a setting you chose on a calculator, so the page behaves the same next time you open it. That storage sits on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Your rights over data linked to you and the steps to exercise them
You have the right to ask what personal data Palawan Mirror holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted, subject to any legal duty to keep a record. In practice the site holds almost nothing that identifies you, so a request will usually return either nothing or the contents of an email you sent us. To make a request, contact us through the address on the contact page and describe what you are asking for. We will respond within a reasonable period and explain what was found.
You also have the right to object to analytics processing and to withdraw any consent you have given. Because the analytics described on this page are aggregated and not tied to an identity, objecting usually means blocking the analytics script in your browser or using a content blocker. You do not need our permission to do that, and the calculators will continue to work. For broker-side data, exercise your rights directly with the broker, since Palawan Mirror cannot access or delete records held in a broker's systems.
If you are in the Philippines, the Data Privacy Act gives you rights over personal information held by organisations, and you can raise a concern with the National Privacy Commission if a request is not handled properly. We mention this because it is the relevant local route, not because we expect it to be needed. The same rights apply whether you are funding through GCash, a bank transfer, or not funding at all; using the calculators does not create an account or a data relationship beyond what this page describes.
The cookies this site sets and the job each kind performs
Palawan Mirror sets two kinds of first-party cookies: a preference cookie that remembers whether you have dismissed a notice or chosen a display setting, and a security cookie that helps distinguish normal traffic from automated requests. The preference cookie carries no identifier that points to you as a person; it holds a simple flag. The security cookie expires when you close the browser session. Neither cookie is used to build a profile or to target advertising on this site.
Broker cookies are different and are set only after you click a link to a broker. Those cookies belong to the broker, not to Palawan Mirror, and they are governed by the broker's own privacy policy. Their purpose is usually to record that a visit originated from a particular partner so that any resulting account can be attributed correctly. We do not control those cookies, we cannot read them, and blocking them in your browser settings will not break any calculator on this site.
You can delete or block any cookie through your browser settings without losing access to the calculators, because the calculators do not depend on cookies to run. If you clear cookies, the only effect on Palawan Mirror is that a dismissed notice may appear again. For broker cookies, use the broker's own cookie controls or your browser's site-data settings. The exact list of cookies a broker sets, and how long each lasts, is stated in that broker's cookie notice rather than here.
Affiliate tracking explained without the euphemisms
Palawan Mirror earns money through affiliate links, which means we may receive a payment from a broker if you open an account after following a link from this site. That is the plain arrangement. The payment does not change the reference price, the pip value, or any formula used in the calculators. It also does not give a broker any influence over what the calculators output or over the risk warnings on the page. The tools work the same whether you click a link or not.
The tracking itself is handled by the broker and its affiliate network, not by Palawan Mirror. When you click a broker link, a parameter in the URL tells the broker which partner sent you. The broker then sets its own cookie and records the referral in its own systems. We do not receive your name, your account number, your deposit amount, or your trading history from that process. At most, we see aggregate counts of how many clicks a link received, with no information identifying who clicked.
Because the tracking belongs to the broker, the data it collects is covered by the broker's privacy policy, not this one. If you prefer not to be tracked, open the broker's site directly in a new tab instead of using a link here. That choice has no effect on your use of Palawan Mirror. We state this plainly because a reader deciding where to trade should know how the site is funded before clicking, not after.
What Palawan Mirror stores on its own servers and what it never stores
Palawan Mirror stores only the technical data needed to serve pages and keep the site running: standard web server logs that record the requested URL, the time of the request, a truncated IP address, and the browser type. It does not store your calculator inputs, your name, your email address, your phone number, your GCash number, or any bank account details on its servers. Anything you type into a margin or pip calculator stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
The site does not create user accounts, so there is no profile database holding your personal information. If you contact us by email, the message and your email address are stored in our mailbox only for as long as needed to answer your question. We do not build a marketing list from those messages and we do not sell or rent any contact details. Any information you choose to send is kept separate from the calculator pages, which run entirely on the client side.
What the site never stores includes your trading account credentials, your broker login, your GCash transaction history, or your bank statements. We do not ask for those details and you should never send them to us. If a page ever appears to request them, treat it as suspicious and close it. The only files placed on your device by Palawan Mirror itself are the small local storage entries described elsewhere on this page, and those hold interface preferences, not personal data.
The third parties that can see data when you use this site
The third parties involved fall into three groups: the web host that serves the pages, the analytics provider described in a later section, and any broker whose link you choose to follow. The web host processes standard server logs as a necessary part of delivering the site. The analytics provider receives aggregated, non-identifying usage counts. A broker receives data only after you click through to it, and from that point the broker's own policy applies. No other third party is given access to anything you type here.
Palawan Mirror does not sell, rent, or trade personal data to data brokers, advertising networks, or lead-generation companies. There is no advertising network embedded in these pages and no social media tracking pixel. The calculators do not call out to external services, so the numbers you enter are not sent to a third-party API. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the change will be announced in the manner described in the final section.
The broker named on this site is FxPro, and the entity that serves the Philippines is the FxPro entity for this country. Note the regulatory position plainly: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC, not by the SEC of the Philippines. That fact matters for how a broker handles your data and your account, and it is stated here so you can weigh it before following any link. Palawan Mirror itself is a publisher, not a broker, and holds no client funds.
How long data is kept, what removes it, and how policy changes are announced
Server logs are kept for a short, fixed period and then deleted automatically by the host's rotation schedule; the exact number of days depends on the hosting plan and is not a figure we set per visitor. Aggregated analytics counts are retained in summary form and are not linked back to individuals. Emails you send us are kept only while the conversation is open and for a short period afterwards, then deleted. Nothing on Palawan Mirror is kept indefinitely for marketing purposes because no marketing list exists.
Deletion happens in three ways: automatic rotation of logs, manual deletion of correspondence once a query is closed, and your own action of clearing cookies and local storage in your browser. Clearing site data removes the preference and security cookies described earlier and any local storage entries this site placed on your device. Broker cookies are removed through your browser or the broker's own controls. If you want confirmation that a specific item has been deleted, ask us and we will tell you what was removed.
Changes to this privacy policy are announced by updating this page and revising the date shown at the top; material changes are also noted in a short line on the homepage for a reasonable period after they take effect. We do not send email announcements because we do not hold a mailing list. If a change affects how the calculators handle input, it will be described in the relevant section before the change goes live, so a reader can review it in advance. Continued use of the site after an update means the revised policy applies.
Cookies set by brokers
When you follow an affiliate link to a broker, that broker sets its own cookies under its own policy. We do not control those cookies and cannot read them; what the broker collects and how long it keeps it is described in that broker's privacy notice, which is worth reading before you open an account.
Our revenue comes from those affiliate links, so we tell you plainly that following one may result in a referral fee to this desk. That arrangement does not change what we write, and it does not give us access to anything you enter on the broker's site.
